With Universal International Studios' Matchbox Pictures high-concept comedy series Class Of '07, the state's booming film industry is headed to the top.
The eight-part, half-hour comedy series was created, written, and directed by Kacie Anning. It was made by Matchbox Pictures and Amazon Studios. Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream the series in Australia and over 240 other countries.
Class of '07 is the fourth scripted Australian Amazon Original since 2019.
Screen NSW head Grainne Brunsdon said the series will strengthen NSW's filmmaking reputation and boost the economy.
“Securing Class Of '07 through Screen NSW's $175 million Made in NSW fund is another vote of confidence in the world-class ability of our local screen industry as it grows,” Ms Brunsdon said.
“This exciting comedy series will be filmed in and around Sydney and will directly create 117 jobs for local cast and crew with over $12,580,000 in economic benefits expected to flow on to filmmakers and the wider economy, including many Sydney VFX houses.”
Matchbox Pictures managing director Alastair McKinnon said the studio was thrilled to have the backing of the NSW Government to greenlight this exciting homegrown series.

Class of '07 is a comedy about a never-ending high school reunion. During the 10-year reunion of an all-girls high school, an apocalyptic tidal wave hits the island peak, forcing a group of women to survive. The show is about a group of people who went to high school together and are now fighting the end of the world and each other.
