MJF lost the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe at Worlds End. This was a shocking move, because The Devil then revealed himself to be Adam Cole. With the great bidding war of 2024 apparently in play, MJF’s situation with AEW is very interesting.
When the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve, AEW took MJF off their official roster page. As of this writing, The Salt of the Earth is no longer on the roster page.
MJF was beaten up as he walked into his match against Samoa Joe at Worlds End. Then, he lost the title, and his best friend in the company turned on him after that. It was later reported that MJF would be taking some time off.
MJF also did not take part in the media scrum following AEW Worlds End. We will have to see what this means. Tony Khan did dodge question about MJF’s AEW contract during that scrum.
It should be noted that many people within AEW and WWE believe that MJF actually signed a new contract with the company when he returned before AEW All Out 2022. Now, this new development is very interesting.
MJF meant a lot to AEW, and he worked his way up the roster to capture the AEW World Title. Now, he is no longer on the company’s official roster.
We will have to see what MJF does next in his pro wrestling journey. He has a few options available for him, but it’s anyone’s guess what this latest development on the AEW roster actually means. You can check out the new roster below, as he appears on January 1st, 2024.
